The City Clerk's Office plays a pivotal role in supporting transparency, accountability, and efficiency in local government. Our office is dedicated to serving the public, assisting in the management of important city records, and ensuring that all local government processes are conducted with integrity.

Responsibilities and Duties
The City Clerk's Office is responsible for the following key functions:

 1. City Council Support
  • Providing support to the City Council during meetings.
  • Preparing, distributing, and maintaining Council meeting agendas and minutes.
 2. Records Management
  • Maintaining and managing all city records, documents, and official records.
  • Ensuring public access to these records in compliance with the California Public Records Act.
 3. Elections
  • Administering regular and special municipal elections, including candidate filing, election-related documentation, and acting as filing officer for FPPC required filings.
  • Overseeing the certification of election results. 
 4. Applications for Council-Appointed Positions and Claims
  • Processing applications for boards, committees, and commissions, and assisting with appointments.
  • Receiving and processing claims against the city.
  • Complying with the Maddy Act. 2024 List of Local Appointments
 5. Municipal Code and City Seal
  • Maintaining the and publishing the City's Municipal Code.
  • Acting as the custodian of the official City seal.

The City Clerk serves as secretary to the Successor Agency, Housing Authority, Public Finance Authority, Water Utility Authority and the Oversight Board to the Successor Agency.
