Read every day with your child
Why is reading so important? Reading to children helps them develop important language and vocabulary skills, enhances social skills, and enriches their lives! Students who don't read over summer vacation lose out on this important skill building and can lose months of learning.

It's never too early to start reading with your child
Within your child's first year, they are able to learn basic language and reading concepts, such as how to hold a book and that you are reading words and not pictures. Studies show academic development improves if children develop enthusiasm for reading at an early age. Children who start kindergarten ready to learn to read have greater success throughout their school years.
