Economic Development Updated: Apr 5, 2022

The Economic Development Division offers assistance to new and growing businesses in Santa Fe Springs. In addition to collaborating with local, state, and regional partners, we leverage our expertise in financing, commercial real estate, sustainability, economic data, and marketing to provide businesses with the resources they need to thrive.

To promote and support our local restaurants and eateries, we have compiled a list of businesses that remain open, offering take-out, drive-through, and/or delivery services. The City of Santa Fe Springs recognizes the significant impact recent directives have had on local businesses, and we want to reaffirm our continued support for the business community within our city.

Why SFS

Over 80% of the City’s nine-square miles are zoned for retail, office, light, and heavy industrial uses, with eight out of ten businesses operating in the community for more than 15 years. Our prime location, thriving business community, supportive government, and active Chamber of Commerce are just a few reasons why Santa Fe Springs is the perfect place for your business.

Location Santa Fe Springs offers an ideal trade area and labor force for your business, with easy access to major transportation routes. The area boasts a daytime population of over 150,000, with an additional 575,000 people within a short ten-minute drive.

Community Santa Fe Springs is committed to supporting local businesses, social services, and the arts. With 100 acres of recreational space and miles of greenbelts and parkways, Santa Fe Springs is both a cultural and environmental oasis. We are one of the few cities with a public art program and an annual Arts Festival.

In the past three years, over 547 new housing units have been built, sparking a renaissance along commercial corridors and residential neighborhoods in this master-planned community. The City provides robust public services to its 17,000 residents and more than 3,000 businesses, including child development programs, educational and recreational activities, family services, senior services, city-sponsored trips to local attractions, a farmers’ market, free concerts in the park, two free fitness centers, a community health clinic, and a free work shuttle.

In Santa Fe Springs, families flourish, and businesses thrive.

Supportive Government The City contracts with the Whittier Police Department for law enforcement services, forging a strong and effective partnership that emphasizes community-based policing. Additionally, the City’s Fire Department has a favorable ISO rating, which results in lower insurance costs for residents and businesses alike.

Active Chamber of Commerce The Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce and Industrial League, Inc. has nearly 1,000 members, making it the 7th largest Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles County. For more information, visit the Chamber’s website at www.sfschamber.com.
