In partnership with the Whittier Police Department, the Special Needs Sticker Program was implemented as a tool to assist Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders in interacting with individuals with developmental of physical limitations that may make communication difficult. By placing the sticker in the window of your residence or on your vehicle, officers are made aware that their instructions may not be easily understood by an individual, alerting them that a person inside the residence or vehicle may have special needs. This sticker also intends to assist the Whittier Police Department or other First Responders in recognizing individuals with special needs while responding to calls for service, interacting with them, and providing more efficient services to the community.
Stickers are available to City of Santa Fe Springs residents free of charge. Visit the Police Services Center to pick up your sticker, today. For information, please contact the Police Services Center at (562) 409-1850.
