As we gear up for the holiday season, take part in the City’s Thankful Neighbor and Neighborly Elf Holiday Food Basket Programs. Please consider donating your time, non-perishable food items, canned goods, new toys, or making a monetary contribution.  

The program allows sponsorship of pre-selected families, identified by the Department of Community Services, Family and Human Services Division staff.

Thankful Neighbor and Neighborly Elf Basket Program 
Are you a Santa Fe Springs resident in need of a food basket this Holiday season? Older Adults and Low-income families can pre-register to receive a food basket for the holiday! Registration will be completed via phone appointments or email. The last day is register is Thursday, November 14, 2024. Please call the Gus Velasco Neighborhood Center at (562) 692-0261 to speak with a Social Services Case Manager to see if you qualify. 

Donations are needed for our Holiday Basket Program!
Supplies Needed:

• Canned Food (mixed vegetables, corn, green beans, cranberry, etc.)
• Canned Gravy
• Canned Yams
• Frozen Turkeys
• Boxed Stuffing
• Boxed Mashed Potatoes
• Canned Cranberry

The last day to bring in donations will be Wednesday, November 6, 2024. 
Please take all donations items to the Gus Velasco Neighborhood Center, 9255 Pioneer Blvd. Monday - Friday 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.
